Are you serious? Not only could she have just not shown up, also her performance was quite normal, she lost 7 Elo, without the last round game her performance would have been roughly what was to expect.
I do agree that her decision was weird to say the least, but that statement is just ridiculous.
Btw, I also agree that the decision has nothing to do with age, as mentioned before Kasparov also did a lot of controversial things and he isn't exactly young. (or was at the time)
