Timeout while clock is ticking for the opponent in a winning position, the loss of rating points

Hi
I lost rating points in my last two games in a winning position. Clock was ticking for the opponent. When time was out for the opponent nothing happened, as if the game was frozen. To get response I reloaded the page. Then the rating points was given to the opponent, not me. !?

@primstaven What happened is you got disconnected from lichess and did not notice or get told by your browser. Which made your opponents clock tick down to 0 and make it seem that you won but when you exit or reload the page or click to analyse you get reconnected and see that you lost because you never got your opponents move.
@for_cryingout_loud Hi, it's clearly a bug! It also happened to me and to some other players today. So it's not our fault that "we didn't notice" something. The time was showing for the opponent. I got a loss from a winning position + a warning. It's not fair, please fix

the problem is you get disconnected now your browser does not realize that meaning the time keeps ticking down and you loose.
Only solution is better internet connection or refreshing every 30 seconds

Also there were restarts when the timer hits 0 you should always refresh because you browser does not always do it.
@for_cryingout_loud I'm pretty sure you see that there are multiple threads with the same issue. It doesn't make sense saying that everyone who wrote about the issue just had a poor internet connection, and not a website technical bag. Besides that, the website was running slow when I was trying to find support. And my intetnet worked fine as usually, no slowdowns
There were at least a couple of server restarts today roughly around the time of the game where you flagged in a better position. I suspect that could be the reason you thought you were online but were in fact disconnected.

Refreshing the page or opening the game again on a second device seems to be the only workaround to double check the state of your connection. I'm extremely wary of connection reliability whenever the server restart message pops up - it's not always an accurate countdown; and can sometimes be followed by another restart soon after.

When you've made a move and it appears your opponent is stalling (but in fact it is you who is disconnected), there's generally no harm or time lost for you by just refreshing the page to confirm the state of your connection. Alternatively, I suppose you could also click on your profile name in the menu to see the lag indicator to see if that offers additional clues.

If I see that restart warning, I usually try to steer clear of playing for a good while, and use that time to take a break.
The same happened to me. I was playing bullet. My opponents time ran out and I wasn't disconnected at all. I just lost 16 points. It's unfair to the person who is waiting. Please fix this issue ASAP.

Same here as well, except for I didn't get -16. It is not a win as per as FIDE rules and your situation is a draw.

But yes @SpeedyChess2014 It is unfair
