Dark Board theme bug

For a couple of days now, all theme options apart from Light use the Dark Board. (Dark and Dark Board are the same.) And I can no longer configure how dark it is with Dark Board Factor (lichess.org/page/extend), either; that UserStyle simply does nothing. So something about how the board is rendered has recently changed.

Through trial and error (mostly error), I discovered that if I switch to Dark, then restart my browser, now Dark Board doesn’t work. So it’s as if the browser will only cache one theme at a time. Interesting. . . .

FYI: I’m using Firefox, and this is happening in both Windows and Android. I haven’t seen anyone else post about it, so I guess not many people use Dark Board, hence they haven’t noticed any difference. ̄\_(ツ)_/ ̄
There's a change coming that might help you. Sit tight.

Any news now that we’ve been sitting tight for a full week?
Yes, there is a brightness slider in board settings of account menu.

THERE IS, AT THAT. And it is truly excellent! The UserStyle mentioned in #1 is now obsolete. :-)

As this was one possible solution to an issue I submitted on GitHub ~3 years ago (github.com/lichess-org/lila/issues/8570) — the fanciest solution, at that (and, accordingly, the one I least expected to see implemented) — I’ve now closed that issue, and marked it as Completed.

THANK YOU, Lichess Team, for the way you selflessly work to improve this site. I know you are seldom thanked for your many efforts on its behalf — more often, we already-spoiled users just complain. 0:-) FBOW, that’s the nature of feedback: most of us don’t bother to praise the good, we just criticize whatever’s less than ideal. ̄\_(ツ)_/ ̄

But truly, this has been an historic week in the world of online chess. The interface here is now fine-tuneable to an unparalleled extent. Arguably, this platform provides the best experience it’s possible to have playing chess on a computer. Honestly, it’s getting harder to think of ways it might be improved! Though such is the nature of this project, and its track record, I’m sure it shall yet attain to even greater heights. <3

A big Thank You to all the Lichess developers. You’re the best! (And you heard it from me first.)
