Couldn't create rated Chess960 correspondence game

Hi, I tried to create a rated Chess960 correspondence game, but for some reason I can only select "Casual" from the dropdown menu. If I change the time control to be "Real time", it allows me to select "Rated" though. Is this a bug, or is there some reason why Chess960/correspondence/rated isn't possible?
And I just noticed that I can create a Chess960/correspondence/rated game when challenging a certain player—it's only not possible to do so in the "Create a game section".
There's no rated correspondence for variants in general.

Like, what rating is it supposed to effect, either the standard correspondence rating or the variant rating, neither makes sense.
As far as I understand, this is intentional: you cannot play rated correspondence games for variants. Even if you challenge a specific player to a rated game - it will turn out to be casual in the end.

The reasoning is probably that for each variant there is only one rating category regardless of time. Having correspondence games contribute to that rating would grossly overestimate the skills of correspondence players.
This was actually the case for me when rated correspondence games in 960 were still possible: I had a rating of around 1800, but when playing even 10+10 games for a change, other players of "my" rating would easily crush me.
I see—that's too bad really, since I like Chess960, and I find that one tends to need more time than in Standard chess to reflect on the unfamiliar positions, and in correspondence play one can more easily take that time... Might it therefore be feasible to create a new rating category (or subcategory) specifically for Chess960 correspondence play?
On a related note, would it be possible in the regular time controls to increase the time limit for the first move? Since the starting position in Chess960 is unfamiliar, it would be helpful to be allowed some more time to examine the starting position.

Absolutely, and I would love to see that! However, the counter argument seems to be that there is just far too few players in that category. It seems like it is not going to happen.
