BREXIT - What´s your opinion?

I´m surprised that GB is leaving the EU. Maybe the best for all the other countries. A lot of people in GB always demanded special treatment. Now they can not pick the raisins from the cake any longer and a lot of decision makers in Londons financial world are already considering to leave for Frankfurt/Germany. Germany e.g. is paying 3 times more money compared to GB.

For the politicians in Brussels it´s a warning. There is a need of reforming this monster called European Union.

How do you value the british decision?
Brexit will be BAD for chess. The game of chess will be EXTINCT in the UK by 2020. The Soviet Union will dominate chess again. We can't let the Ruuskies win. If you know what's good for you, vote REMAIN.

Oh wait, the referendum has happened. All simplistic jingoisms are useless.
@stonecollector Are you my long lost twin? That is exact opinion I have about the whole Brexit thing. If EU survives this and is reformed as a result it is ultimately a good thing for EU, as for UK, I don't know, only time will tell.
It's a wonderful thing for Britain. To be freed from the yoke of Brussels feels AMAZING! We kicked the political classes in the groin area and took our country back :)
#5 Toutatis. - Your freedom from Brussels maybe turns out to be very costly and Scotland and N. Ireland will create a lot of new problems as they want to stay in the EU. GB is no longer a big global player like USA, China and may face considerable problems to act independly in a globalized world. I hope you will be happy with your freedom.
#6 We're the world's 5th largest economy. Our GDP is about 5 or 6 times yours. We'll be fine.

N.Ireland won't go anywhere (I don't know if you understand already that there's a sectarian divide there, and the vast majority want to be part of the UK). Scotland might, but they had a referendum 2 years ago and stayed.

We're already very happy with our freedom. Watch the EU fall apart...
Although brexit has set back UK finance and may delay TTIP ratification, it has the benefits of strengthening the five eyes alliance and expediting a separate and stronger TTIP-like partnership with the UK.
The UK was the 5th largest economy in the world before Brexit now you are 6th or 7th depending on who's analysis you are reading.

Northern Ireland is going to be a massive issue due to Brexit. A border will cause all sorts of problems between the two countries and Brexit gives an excuse for the nationalists to start discussions on a border referendum and who knows what that will lead to.

England was England before Brexit and the referendum has changed nothing - extremely shortsighted in my view for the UK to leave the EU.
#9 LOL it's been a week...

Also, we're talking about the United Kingdom here, not England. Scotland can't join the EU - Spain will veto it, they've said, so there's no point in their referendum. Northern Ireland is British and will stay with us.

The economy will be just fine.

The Irish economy is about 44th in the world. I don't think we'll be taking Irish advice in a hurry!
