Go vs Chess

Isn't how artful something is considered dependent on the perspective and the one who dealt it. Who's to say otherwise. Perhaps the real artistic creativity in games is not what happens directly on the board, but what happens around it.
I'm learning go, one day we must try to play, it seems to be amazing :)
Training for go is done on a 9x9 board, then progressively to a 13x13 board. It is thought that the North Vietnamese used go strategies vs our chess-like strategies to defeat us in the Vietnam war. Attrition is inherent in chess, in go you add pieces to surround and choke off the enemy
