Extreme use of the cpu

I noticed that during the analysis using Stockfish in the local browser the CPU usage rises to 99%.

Would it be possible to introduce a system that makes the user choose how much % of resources to use? Otherwise you risk overheating problems.
You can set the amount of threads in the engine settings. That said, I have never had a shutdown of my PC due to overheating by engine use, despite having it running dozens of hours. Shutdowns when watching videos, that happens, but not when using engines. The cooler goes woo, but that is normal.
Y'alls computer need a dusting if they turn off due to heating lol
≡ menu under the move list → reduce the number of "CPUs" as suggested by Lets_Train_This

This is an x-y problem. Would you like every app on your computer to have a way of not only reducing the number of CPUs used but also how much of those CPUs are used? This is something better addressed at the OS level, or by fixing your pc, or replacing it with one which isn't faulty (which is the only way of describing a pc which overheats when using only a single core).
