I have been working on lichess theses days. Here's what's new:
- brand new database with game compaction (should handle the next ten million games)
- ligther pages. Twice less javascript make the pages load faster
- faster animations. Will make old computers happy
- notable performance improvements in piece moving. Both drag'n drop and click-click styles are faster and more accurate
- bug fixes in game exporter and online users, and more tests

Yeah, just saw my drawn games count increment by 3. :D I barely remember getting stalemates. :o
When playing Crafty it was apparent the piece animation became more efficient. They used to fly across the board pretty fast, but the animation started to appear more graceful recently. I tend to
have a lot of projects open and work spaces, so it honestly matters. (Though it is the fault of Windows OS as well I know. :D)
JavaScript is a nightmare on a lot of other sites, especially Microsoft Hotmail even. Having Hotmail open while playing chess here was quite a drag on process CPU. :D As of the past few days though I
could tell it started becoming a little easier to access the pages here.
It has broken lichess and now the white gets error on page and piece moves to top left of board
Dunno if you mean the "currently under maintenance" error or something. :/
But after playing 29 games against ctrlaltdel and winning only 1 of them, I daresay to justify that it wasn't the site's fault I lost XD. Pretty kind person for someone who just got done whipping my
ass in ~15 games. (The other games I had some advantage, but again like most people here, he's better at pre-move than I am.)

There are new upgrades!
- links in chats are now clickable
- when using premove, pawn promotion always generate a queen
- you can choose the chessboard color! See the color button on top right of the screen :)
It would be nice if autoqueen could be toggled on or off. Every now and then a queen will result in stalemate, or one may need a knight to deliver a check. It is rare but the possibility should
exist imo.
in this case, don't premove the promotion. You will be given the choice.
