Rook ending and opening choice.

I played this game with an anonymous opponent. I have not played sicilian defences too much( and I am not good at it) so I tried this stuff from the english opening at first. Will it do OK for other games?

And at the end we were down to a rook vs rook endgame. I have heard about the philodor an lucena positions but never tried them. Was the endgame quite correct? Do I really need to learn those positions for endgames of this type?

And any more strategic or tactical anomalies to watch out for the next time? :D

Thank You!
Hey!

I'm not an expert by any means, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I was surprised by the first two minor-piece exchanges. Taking his knight on move 7 allowed him to fix his backwards pawn. Later, taking his knight with your bishop on move 10 gave him the bishop pair.
Thank you OriginalConcept. The computer also tells me to go back on the 7th move.
