Fixing rating scores

Hey all,

How so, when you lost to cheater, and then later lichess confirm that was cheating, how come rating points are not fixing?

Thanks
Because the more games you play after that the more irrelevant that past game becomes.

If I remove the a huge win you had from 50 games ago (where you got +30pts for instance) and recalculated your rating from that point on as if that game had never happened, your rating now would be the same.

The distortion one single game causes is temporary and is smothed out naturally as you play more games, so there is really no need to adjust I think.
And still, if this is happening within few days ajustement would be nice, especially when you play just several games per day.
also, if you considering adjusting your game would affects the points you gain in the following game, and that of your opponent, and so on... you can see these cascade effect points become impossible to track (also, irrelevant in the long run (unless it was the top rating you'd have got... but that also will happen again ;))
You regain your rating points when Lichess computes its rating recalculation. This is not a cheap process so it does not run often, and on occasions that it does your rating would had stabilized so far better that you probably won't notice it.
